Young Dutch boss linked with West Brom now on radar of other clubs in England
Ryan Mason remains the Albion frontrunner - but another name has been linked with Albion in foreign press reports.
Go Ahead Eagles boss Paul Simonis appears to have been on West Brom's list of potential candidates - with Voetbal International claiming West Brom had previously made contact over the vacant managerial role.
They state that Simonis, who led his side to a seven placed finish and to victory in the Dutch Cup, had attracted Albion's interest.
The 40-year-old had been reportedly also considered as a candidate for the Ajax job too.
The reports in Holland have reported that there has been no contact between Simonis and Albion for some time - but that he is getting increased from other unnamed English clubs.
They have also said that Albion may return to Simonis if a deal for favourite Mason does not get over the line.
However, in the latest reports on Friday Albion are edging ever closer to appointing Mason, with positive talks having taken place between the two parties.
