Evans wants to return home with a perfect 10
Zach Evans was told his next fight will be for a title in front of his home crowd after he made it 10 straight wins, writes Matt Bozeat.
That is pencilled in for Murray’s show at Chase Leisure Centre on September 13.
Murray reckons Evans is ready to step up after seeing him drop Stewart twice in a four-round points win.
Stewart is a hard-as-nails competitor from Stoke who has won Midlands Area welterweight honours and drawn with Irish hope Ray Moylette.
Evans had too much for Stewart, dropping him twice in the second round with body shots.
Murray said: “That’s the best I’ve seen Zach box.
“Not many people do that to Jamie Stewart.
“We know he’s tough, but Zach used the angles really well.”
Murray has a bumper show planned for September with several title fights pencilled in and Lewis Morris is another Cannock-based boxer who has big fights to look forward to after enjoying a good afternoon at Bar Sport.
He outboxed Mohammad Wako to win all four rounds on the referee’s scorecard.
Wako came out swinging, but Morris jabbed his way to victory.
