Aston Villa reveal how much supporters will pay to attend Europa League fixtures
Villa supporters face paying up to £67 to attend group stage matches in next season’s Europa League.
The club has confirmed its pricing structure for European fixtures next term, with the cost of a ticket set to go up further should Unai Emery’s team reach the knockout stages of the competition.
Villa, who missed out on qualifying for the Champions League for a second consecutive year, received heavy criticism for charging fans up to £97 to attend matches in the elite competition this season.
Under next season’s prices for the Europa League, non-season ticket holders will pay between £55 and £67 to attend a group stage match, with prices then going up by £10 for the knockout rounds.
Season ticket holders will be charged between £45 and £57 in the group stages, with the cost of their tickets also going up by a tenner in the later rounds.
While those prices mark a considerable decrease on those for Champions League fixtures, the stature of Villa's opponents is also likely to be reduced in the Europa League.
Villa hosted Bayern Munich, Juventus and Celtic in the group stages this season, before being knocked out in the quarter-finals by Paris Saint-Germain.
The Europa League prices still also represent a marked increase on those charged during the 2023-24 Conference League campaign, which was the club’s first back in Europe for more than a decade. Then, supporters were able to buy adult group stage tickets for as little as £25.
While the cost of European tickets continues to be high, Villa have confirmed they will be freezing ticket prices for home FA Cup and Carabao Cup ties at £25 for adults and £10 for under-18 concessions.
The club hosts three FA Cup matches this season and says 15,000 supporters visited Villa Park for the first time. A freeze on season ticket prices for fans aged under-21 is also cited as key to attracting the next generation of supporters.
Further changes for next season will include a season ticket usage scheme which will require supporters to attend at least 14 out of 19 Premier League matches or risk losing their ticket for the following campaign.
Planned alterations to the away ticket scheme are also due to be announced, though the club has moved to ensure those supporters who attended 18 or more road trips this season will be able to go to the same number next term.
The addition of 379 new seats to Villa Park for next season, including 14 disabled positions, will see some season ticket holders relocated from their existing seat.
Villa say those fans impacted will be notified no later than 5pm on Friday of the proposed change.
A club statement explained: “We are doing everything in our power to ensure fans have access to the best, nearest available seat.
“All impacted fans will have access to a dedicated phone line to discuss options.
“We will ensure that ticket holders who are part of a larger group are accommodated for as reasonably as possible. All of this will take place before any new season tickets are offered for sale.”
