South Staffs County League round-up: Six of the best for leaders Hammerwich
Hammerwich are out in front at the top of the South Staffs County League Premier Division after recording six wins from six to start the season.
Their latest victory came on a rain-affected Bank Holiday Monday, where Callum Brodrick (79no) helped them to a 46-run win over Tamworth seconds.
The rain had stopped Hammerwich's innings at 170-2 on 36 overs, leading to a revised target of 226 to win for the visitors inside 36 overs.
Tamworth were bowled out for 179 in reply on the final ball of their 36-over innings, with Brodrick taking 3-27.
That followed a five-run win at Walsall in another rain-affected on Saturday, with the hosts falling just short of their revised target of 138 thanks to the efforts of Hasnain Nawaz (3-7) and Alex Mason (3-44).
Second-placed Milford Hall remain hot on the leaders' heels after a rain-affected win over Lichfield on Saturday, in which Sahal Malvernkar hit 98, while Dom Afford (83no) and Will Davis (4-29) helped them to a big win over Wombourne on Bank Holiday Monday.

Cannock remain winless at the foot of the table after their match at Wolverhampton seconds was abandoned on Saturday, while they lost at home to Pelsall by 47 runs on Monday - Jake Lee scored 100 for Pelsall.
That saw Pelsall bounce back from their one-run defeat to Beacon in a rain-affected game on Saturday. Daniel Green (95) helped Beacon to 235-8.
Penkridge beat Beacon by five wickets on Bank Holiday Monday, to see the latter slip to fourth.
Stephen Blews (39no) helped Beacon to 176-9 in their 50 overs, while Mark Pearse (59no) and Andy Jones (47) led Penkridge to victory.
Fordhouses are third after beating Wolverhampton seconds by six wickets.
Lewis Peat (4-31) had reduced Wolverhampton to 212-9, but the arriving rain gave Fordhouses an increased victory target of 236 in 38 overs.
And they reached that with eight balls to spare as Sachin Jayawardena (70no), Michael Gallear (40) and Adam Peat (27no) led them home.
Elsewhere on Monday, Walsall squeaked home by one wicket in their home clash with Lichfield.
The visitors had been bowled out for 125 - with Ramandeep Singh taking 8-26 - and Walsall got over the line thanks to Daniel Betty's 58.
Fordhouses' clash with Tamworth seconds was abandoned on Saturday, as was the match between Penkridge and Wombourne.
