Revealed: Aston Villa unveil new kit to be worn in crunch final day encounter
Villa have unveiled a new away kit which will be worn for the first time in Sunday’s crunch encounter with Manchester United.
The kit, mainly black in colour, was released on Thursday to coincide with the opening of a new club shop at Birmingham’s Bullring shopping centre.
It will be worn throughout next season but will debut at Old Trafford on the final day of the current campaign, where Unai Emery’s team hope to secure qualification to next season’s Champions League.
Produced by Adidas, the new kit features a sleeve designed inspired by the Bullring centre.
Chris Heck, the club’s outgoing president of business operations, said: “Our 25/26 away kit launch is a continuation of our exciting partnership with Adidas.
“We wanted this to be a representation of our iconic home city, where a lot of our fans’ away-day journeys start and end.
“This partnership keeps going from strength to strength and we look forward to seeing this fantastic kit on the pitch this weekend.”
A spokesperson for Adidas said: “With Aston Villa’s away kit, we wanted to create something that goes beyond performance – a jersey that captures the bold, modern spirit of Birmingham.
“The Bullring’s architecture served as the perfect inspiration to tell the story of innovation and pride that run through the city and its football club.
“It’s a design that speaks to the future while staying true to Aston Villa’s identity and we can’t wait to see the players and fans wear it with pride.”
Villa go to Old Trafford sitting sixth in the Premier League, needing a win and their rivals to slip-up if they are to finish in the top five and make a Champions League return.
