Aston Villa key transfer update as talks held with teenage Dutch striker amid AC Milan and Premier League interest
Feyenoord striker Zepiqueno Redmond has emerged as a target for Villa this summer.
The 18-year-old is due to be available on a free transfer and Villa have held talks about bringing him to the Midlands.
Though Redmond is yet to make a final decision on his future, it is Villa who are thought to be leading the chase at this point.
Tottenham, Bournemouth and AC Milan are among the other clubs to have shown an interest in Redmond, considered a player with big potential.
Two of his nine senior appearances for the Dutch club have come in the Champions League, including a start in the first leg of their play-off round win over Milan in February.
Redmond, who netted the first senior goals of his career in a Dutch Cup win over Maastricht last December, has been a prolific scorer for the club’s youth team and can play either on the wing or through the middle.
Ollie Watkins is the only permanent senior forward on Villa’s books following the sale of Jhon Duran to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr in January, for a fee which could eventually top £70million.
Boss Unai Emery also played Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford as a centre-forward but the club’s hopes of making his move permanent are thought to rest on qualifying for the Champions League.
