Cricket round-up: Himley beat Halesowen in Birmingham League Premier Division One
Ollie Walker and Hasitha De Silva took a combined seven wickets as Himley beat Halesowen in the Birmingham League Premier Division One.
Visitors Himley bat first and Oliver Westbury gave them a strong start with 37 runs, which was followed up by a half century from Spencer Grove and a further 36 runs from Charitha Kumarasinghe.
Halesowen's JW Rudge claimed three wickets, while Hasan Mahmood took two and Masihullah Qazkhill, Edward Bragg and Eddie Rhodes all took one each to limit Himley's batters, as they ended their 50 overs on 219-9.
Halesowen failed to get into an early rhythm and their highest scores came from Wesley Griffiths (30), L A Tulacz (34) and Alexei Kervezee (49), while Walker claimed four wickets and De Silva took three.
Jamie Turner also claimed two and Adam Finch took one, meaning Halesowen could not reach their target and were all out for 172 after 34.1 overs, losing to Himley by 47 runs.
Elsewhere in the division, Smethwick won at Ombersley by 84 runs.
The visitors enjoyed a strong batting performance all afternoon and managed a good lead of 301-9 from their 50 overs through Mohammed Usman Tahir (30), Bilal Shafayat (33), Viken Kedariya (55) and Deepak Khatri (98).
Ombersley also made a good start as Oliver Cox managed 77 runs, while 39 and 35 from Tom Hinley and LJ Powell respectively gave them some hope.
But Tazeem Chaudry Ali claimed four wickets to limit the hosts who finished all out for 217.
Wolverhampton by beaten, however, losing by 93 runs to Knowle & Dorridge.
In Premier Division Two, West Bromwich Dartmouth beat Stourbridge by 83 runs.
Dartmouth bat first and a century from Dannyjo Cox got them off to the perfect start, followed by 31 from Tim Maxfield and 80 from Ateeq Javid.
Jaspreet Singh claimed five wickets, while Syed Bukhari took four, but Dartmouth still managed 272-9 from their 50 overs.
Stourbridge did not have the same strong batting performance and a half century from Seth Rogerson was their best return, alongside 42 from Bukhari.
Dartmouth consistently claimed wickets and Billy-J Cox took three on their way to victory as Stourbridge finished all out for 189 after 42 overs.
Elsewhere in the division, Old Hill won at Shifnal.
The visitors bat first and got into some rhythm through Harry Davenport (21no) Omar Masood (42), Saad Naseem (42), Bilal Hassan (49) and S P Keeling-Wright (56).
Ben Roberts did his best by claiming three wickets as Old Hill finished their 50 overs on 267-9.
Shifnal were returning single figures as they struggled for any momentum, as Hassan and Naseem both took three wickets each.
Roberts' 69 runs was not enough to get them back into the fixture as they finished all out for 211 after 46.1 overs, losing the game by 56 runs.
Kidderminster also lost by 57 runs at home to Dorridge.
The hosts finished all out for 225 and could not reach their target after Dorridge had achieved 282-6 from 50 overs.
