The Birmingham City loanee once again showcased his match-winning capabilities with a performance right from the very top drawer at Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.
Of course his match-winner was rendered irrelevant in the automatic promotion race, after Bradford City's late, late show, but his goal did at least put an end to a dismal 13-match winless run.
How important that could prove to be remains to be seen, but surely a return to winning ways will give Walsall a vital boost of confidence ahead of their two-legged semi-final against Chesterfield?
As for Hall, it's clear that his talents are a cut above the rest. He pulled the strings with ease at times and looked very much like the player who was once touted for moves to the likes of Liverpool and Newcastle United, before a series of hamstring injuries derailed his exciting rise.
