Club captain Wallace fronted up to the media after the goalless draw at Cardiff last weekend and stressed members of Albion's squad should look at themselves after the shocking late collapse out of the play-offs this season.
Wallace, who could feature in Saturday's finale at home to Luton, was honest about his own below-par performances when fit this season and delivered home truths. The experienced winger, 31, is a leading character and personality at Albion and, as expected from captains, fronts up to the press in more difficult circumstances.
Interim boss Morrison oversees the clash against the Hatters and said such honesty is expected.
"That's why he's captain," Morrison said to BBC WM of Wallace, whose honesty drew a largely positive reaction from Albion fans.
"I expect that from my captain, to be open and honest with the group and the lads take it as professionally as they can.
"Hopefully the reaction comes. Football is sometimes about reflection on yourself. Ultimately it is down to you to step on to the grass and perform week in week out.
"I'm sure when this game is over there will be a few reflections and what can be done better going into next season to put that right."
Wallace has just a year left on his contract at The Hawthorns and his Championship campaign has been limited to just six starts with Tom Fellows preferred on the right flank and Wallace struck by one or two injuries. He missed much of Tony Mowbray's three-month reign with a calf problem.
Albion, in 10th, bring a miserable end to the campaign to a close against the 21st-placed Hatters, who may need to win to secure survival.
"Missed opportunities have been the story of the season," continued Morrison. "Chances to score, the final cross. Next season hopefully it will be in the better place."
