Richard Sneekes moves to new role at Rushall Olympic with manager replacement imminent
Richard Sneekes has stepped down as manager of Rushall Olympic to take on a role as technical advisor.
Ex-Albion favourite Sneekes, 56, was appointed on a permanent basis in December but was unable to lead the club to survival in National League North.
He will take a different role overseeing football matters at the club. Assistant Steve Hinks will continue in his academy role.
The Pics, who return to step three of the non-league pyramid after two seasons in National North, are set to confirm there appointment later today.
Sneekes said: “I would like to thank everyone involved with the club for the support that they have given to me over the past five months.
“We have given everything to try and survive at what is a tough level, but ultimately it was not to be.
“As we look to rebuild the club on the pitch and continue the fantastic progression off the field, I am excited and honoured to take on a more technical role at a club that means so much to me.
“I want to be able to use my experience to help the club reset and come back stronger, working alongside some equally passionate and determined people.
“To the board, staff, players and supporters, I thank you most sincerely for the backing that I received as manager and now I look forward to getting stuck into this new position at what is a very special football club.”
Vice-chairman Nick Allen added: “Richard has given his all, taking the reins at a difficult time and representing our club with real class.
“It’s time for a refresh and reset for our next chapter and both JA (chairman John Allen) and I are delighted that Richard will be remaining at a club he loves and continue to help us on our journey.”
