James Morrison satisfied with elements of West Brom despite "story of the season"

The former Baggies midfielder kicked off his caretaker tenure in the wake of Tony Mowbray's sacking with a point in the goalless draw that condemned the south Wales hosts to relegation.

Both sides spurned several opportunities and found the woodwork in a cagey contest at the Cardiff City Stadium as an increasingly desperate atmosphere as relegation closed in on the home side.

Morrison had called for the players to take responsibility and restore some pride with the manner of their performance and the interim boss was satisfied with what he saw.

"I thought the performance was there, I just said that to the lads," Morrison told the Express & Star.
