Eccleshall’s own Storm Stacey, gearing up for his sixth full season in BSB, returned to action in style. Now riding for Bridgnorth-based Bathams Racing aboard the formidable BMW M1000RR, Stacey made his presence known across both days of the test, showing strong early form and determination.

Friday’s sessions unfolded under dry but blustery skies. Stacey clocked 41 laps as he trialed multiple setups on the BMW, ultimately stopping the clock at 1:29.954.

Saturday brought trickier conditions. Overnight rain left the track slick, prompting Stacey to skip the morning session to avoid unnecessary risks. Once the sun returned and the asphalt dried, he came out firing in the afternoon.

Stacey delivered his fastest lap of the test – a rapid 1:28.638 – just 1.6 seconds off pacesetter and title favourite Glenn Irwin.

For Stacey and Bathams Racing, their final BSB pre-season test comes at Oulton Park this weekend – ahead of the season's official curtain-raiser at the same venue on May 4-5.

With fast laps, fierce competition, and a grid full of hungry riders, the 2025 BSB season is already shaping up to be one to remember.
