Chang made his first Walsall start during their goalless draw at Newport County on Easter Monday and served as an orchestrator alongside former Blues youth teammate Stirk as part of a double pivot.
The 22-year-old, who has had to be eased into the first team fold following a long-term knee injury, won eight of his 11 duels and completed his 87 per cent of his passes at Rodney Parade.
Stirk was equally composed in the heart of midfield with a pass completion rate of 88 per cent and enjoyed rekindling their partnership on the pitch.
He said: "We've come through the academy at Birmingham together and we've played together before.
"It's natural that we want to get on the ball and find each other. Having those two 10s made it a lot easier because you can link off them and have control in the centre of the park."
