A run of five defeats in their last six games including awful performances and two defeats in four days against play-off rivals Coventry City and relegation threatened Derby County.
Albion limped to defeats in both games, and they came on the back of below par displays since the return from the international break.
The results have seen Albion slip out of the play-off race with two games to go - with the Baggies not sitting tenth in the table.
Mowbray has paid the ultimate price for Albion's failings, losing his job just three months after making an emotional return to the club.
While many believe moving Mowbray on is the right call, Albion supporters have also taken aim the Baggies squad for the recent dismal form.
