West Brom player ratings: Miserable marks on afternoon to forget
Albion were comfortably second-best on a damaging afternoon to forget and 2-0 defeat at Coventry.
Goals at the start of either half saw Tony Mowbray's men seen off with ease as the Baggies slipped six points adrift of the top six with nine to play for.
Here are player ratings from a difficult day in the office.
Josh Griffiths
Made a couple of decent stops to prevent an even bigger deficit and his handling was mostly OK. Neither goal can be put at his door.
Helpless 6
Darnell Furlong
Coventry's sixth-minute opener came from down Furlong's flank and several other dangerous attacks arrive from the right-back's side. He managed one or two clearances but struggled.
Struggled 4
Kyle Bartley
He and Heggem in the middle repelled several crosses but Bartley, fresh off a 12-month extension, did so with less confidence. He was not among his side's worst but did not excel.
OK 5
Torbjorn Heggem
One of hardly any who leaves with a morsel of credit. He cleared his lines regularly and made several blocks and clearances. But overall could not help save things.
Credit 6
Callum Styles
The left-back was off the pace like many of his team-mates. Struggled defensively and couldn't have influence in attack. Cheap first-half yellow and punished with second. Unhelpful dismissal.
Saw red 4
Tom Fellows
Quiet struggle in the first half. Came alive a little late on in the second half but the game was done by then. Albion needed much more earlier in the game.
Quiet 5
Alex Mowatt
Really off the pace in the heart of midfield. At fault in part with failing to clear for Rudoni's opening goal. Withdrawn and sprinted off but lacked his composure and quality with ball.
Lacked 4
Isaac Price
Kept his central midfield place but was victim of half-time changes. Struggled to control the ball and have influence on the contest.
Struggled 4
Mikey Johnston
A bit of a bright spark. A couple of direct, dangerous runs where he beat players but could not find anything in the final moment. Does deserve some credit for his threat.
Direct 5
Karlan Grant
Can never ben accused of not putting it all in and working tirelessly for the cause. He kept going with that until the end but his frustration was obvious.
Kept going 5
Will Lankshear
Handed a second consecutive start but was unable to bring qualities he shown the previous game. Was largely on the periphery and unable to get any change from defenders.
Periphery 5
Substitutes:
John Swift (for Lankshear, 45) Had a desperate time. Awful error for second goal where he lost ball. Lifted shot over. 4
Grady Diangana (for Price, 45) Almost immediately shunted to left-back after Styles red. Had it tough beaten time and again by Sakamoto. 5
Ousmane Diakite (for Mowatt, 67) Got about the pitch in a bid to stem tide. 6
Daryl Dike (for Johnston, 73) Introduced late on but tough to have an impact. n/a
Adam Armstrong (for Grant, 73) Like Dike, could not help turn tide in side's favour. n/a
Subs not used: Wildsmith, Holgate, Wallace, Cole.
