The Pics host title-contenders Kidderminster Harriers on Friday looking to complete a remarkable double over Phil Brown’s side.

Rushall’s relegation from step two non-league football was confirmed after their loss to Needham Market last weekend. The Pics then lost 4-1 to Chasetown in the Staffordshire Senior Cup final on Tuesday.

Ahead of their Good Friday clash with Harriers, boss and former West Brom hero Sneekes said his side owe it to other teams in the league to give their all.

He said: “It can go one or two ways. Either there is no pressure and we can give it all we have got, or the lads are down and feeling sorry for themselves.

“It is up to me and the management team to make sure that doesn’t happen. We have a duty to every other team in the league to give it our best shot.

“They won’t have forgotten about the game on New Year’s Day when nobody gave us a chance and we beat them.

“It’s going to be a really tough game, hopefully we will have a really good crowd in and give them something to cheer about.

“But, the circumstances are tough, we have played a lot of games in a short period, have injuries, so it will be a tough game, but one that we will relish and give our all for.”

Rushall survived their first season in the National League North, but have struggled since the start of the campaign.

Sneekes re-joined the Pics in December after Adam Stevens’ departure with them sat bottom of the division.

He continued: “We have shown that we can compete with the better teams in the league, but when it comes to those around us it hasn’t been good enough.

“There are lots of things that have gone on over the season and could have gone better. But, that is hindsight, we can all look back and criticise. All we can do is look forward and be positive. Hopefully things will be back on the up soon.”
