Harrogate Town issues relegation battle warning ahead of Walsall clash
Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver has warned that the League Two relegation battle is "not done and dusted" just yet ahead of their trip to Walsall tomorrow.
The Sulphurites sit nine points clear of the relegation zone with four games remaining and can all but secure safety with a win at Bescot on Good Friday.
And Weaver is keen to avoid complacency during the final four games, with his side not quite out of the deep end just yet.
"There are nine points in it between us and the bottom two. Our goal difference is favourable but it's not done and dusted," Weaver said.
"We've still got to play our part and do it on our terms."
Harrogate earned a hard-fought 2-2 draw against play-off contenders Grimsby Town courtesy of two late goals at Wetherby Road last weekend.
Weaver introduced James Daly with his side trailing 2-0 at the break and the speedy winger proved the difference as Harrogate rescued a point.
"We did get a reaction from half-time, it was a bit more positive, and I think JD [James Daly] was the catalyst for that,” Weaver added.
"I wanted a combination of things. I wanted Jack Muldoon down the middle because I thought he could affect the first ball a little bit better than we were doing, and Ellis Taylor over on that right side cutting in off his left foot.
"Jack Muldoon’s experience showed in that second half, Ellis had that magic moment picking out the top corner and James Daly coming off the bench is a good impact for the team.
"He certainly came on looking to impress, looking to impose himself and to get on the front foot – and he did just that. He was absolutely brilliant when he came on."
