The Baggies have been nursing a trio of long-term injury victims back to health in the hope of them adding competition to Tony Mowbray's group in the final games of the Championship season.
And the Albion boss revealed in his press conference on Wednesday that at least one will return to contention and likely make the bench at the CBS Arena on Friday.
There are late fitness calls to be made on a couple of other players, who will see whether they can train - and to what extent - on Thursday.
Here is a run through of Albion's latest availability.
Jed Wallace - calf
The club captain, 31, has not played since limping out of the clash at his former club Millwall in the second half in mid-February.
Wallace has fought back from the muscle blow, though, and having trained for the best part of a week, Mowbray said he will be on the bench in Coventry on Friday. The Baggies boss noted how the winger's leadership and quality has been a boost in training. He is also natural right-sided competition and cover for Tom Fellows, with Albion's squad more stacked with options on the left.
Ousmane Diakite - ankle
Midfielder Diakite is one Mowbray and his medical and fitness staff will make a late call on when it comes to his training on Thursday before the clash.
Mowbray will not consider individuals ready for contention unless they have taken part in training. Diakite hurt his ankle in the closing stages of the defeat at Bristol City, just before the incident that saw Jayson Molumby dismissed.
Tammer Bany - hamstring
Attacking midfielder Bany is in the same boat as Diakite. The Dane was beginning to catch the eye with bright cameos before his knock and Mowbray had hinted the winter window recruit was pushing for a first start.
Like Diakite, the club will see whether and how much he can be involved in training on Thursday.

Semi Ajayi - hamstring
Ajayi, like Wallace, has been sidelined for a couple of months with a hamstring problem. The defender - for whom this is a second muscle injury of the season - is slightly further back than Wallace in his return.
He was involved in training on Wednesday, though is likely to take another week or so before being considered.
Jayson Molumby - suspended
Molumby serves the second of his three-match ban for the red card in the closing stages at Bristol City. Albion tried to appeal the suspension, but the decision was upheld by the Football Association.
Mikey Johnston - toe
The winger is expected to be able to feature at the CBS Arena, but did miss a day's training this week due to a toe infection. Mowbray will hope he is fit and firing after just a third goal of the season last time out against Watford.
Josh Maja - lower leg
The week's most encouraging fitness news came in the shape of top scorer Maja, who has not kicked a ball in some three-and-a-half months.
Maja is yet to play under Mowbray, but the head coach said he was able to watch the striker taking part in physical work on the grass at the training ground this week. If he is to play a part in the final games of the regular season, he will need to return to training soon. Could he have a role against Cardiff or Luton in the final two games?
