Head coach Mowbray feels an "individualism" has been lacking from his forward players since he arrived at the club in January, with the side still unable to find goals to win games regularly.

The experienced boss wants to see attackers like Mikey Johnston, Tom Fellows, Karlan Grant and Adam Armstrong grab games by the scruff of the neck with the quality to decide them. Mowbray admitted this week he believes his side have been unlucky to lose three games in a row to drop out of the top six, but acknowledged an end product is still lacking.

"Part of me thought Armstrong would just come in and score because that's what he does, yet he hasn't hit the ground running with goals," Mowbray said of his high-profile debut loan recruit from Southampton, who has just two goals in 11 appearances. "I do think it's not just Adam's fault, but the structure of the team and how we're asking them to play.

"The wide players at this club are amazing talented footballers but the lack of consistency sometimes, every time Mikey gets the ball it's not beat three players and put it in the top corner like when he first came (on loan), he has his moments of frustration, dribbling and losing it.

"It's the same with Tom. Tom's an amazing footballer, brilliant the other night when he came on. At the same time there's time he goes missing and is inconsistent, he keeps driving inside on his left foot when really he should be going down the outside on his right. That's the inconsistency of these players.
