The 25-year-old was sent off late into the second half following a strong tackle, but replays suggest the midfielder's challenge wasn't as bad as initially thought.
Prior to the incident Albion were not happy after City played on despite Ousmane Diakité down with an injury.
Following the dismissal, Albion conceded a 96th minute winner to put a big dent in the Baggies play-off hopes.
The club unsuccessfully tried to overturn Darnell Furlong's red card vs QPR last month.
Along with Kyle Bartley's sending-off against Sheffield Wednesday, that's the third red card under Tony Mowbray in 14 games.
