Robins substitute Haydon Roberts punished the 10-man visitors with a 96th-minute winner to extend the hosts' lead over the eighth-placed Baggies to six points. Here are some talking points in the debrief.

Hot-headedness

Jayson Molumby's costly 89th-minute red card was the third dismissal in 14 games under Tony Mowbray, following on from very few red cards in more than two years under Carlos Corberan.

That is not to suggest a discipline problem lies with Mowbray's management - I don't believe it is - but there can be no doubting it is a poor record and that sending off at Ashton Gate proved very damaging.

Molumby has previous - see last summer's friendly brawl and recent goading which resulting in Kyle Bartley's red. On this occasion he did not need to get involved, or to give referee Matt Donohue a decision to make.

Molumby, Bartley and Darnell Furlong, the other recent dismissal, are all influential players. It says little about leadership and responsibility.

Albion were irked Ousmane Diakite's genuine injury had gone unnoticed for more than a minute, fair enough. But there are no rules the ball should be put out. Play on and to the whistle and do not put your team in a potential desperate spot while 1-1 away to a big rival. His challenge raked down an opponent's Achilles and left little room for the referee.
