Darts round-up: Individual glory for Lloyd

Gornal Labour’s Lloyd James clinched the Ettingshall Sunday League Individual title by defeating Lanesfield’s Lee Betts 3-0, writes Paul Walters.

James made it through a tough semi-final battle with Ryan Tinsley 2-1, while Betts enjoyed a 2-0 success over Kie Williams.

Hurst Hill’s Libby Gowen claimed the ladies title after beating defending champion Shelle Price 2-0 in the final. Losing in the semi-finals were Alison Ward and Rita Keay.

The top two in the West Midlands Super League – Staffs Knot and Dog & Partridge – produced an amazing 15 maximums and two 11-dart legs.

Stephen Jones and Jamie Hughes got five maximums and averaged 101.71, while Rob Thompson won for Knot with Ryan O’Connor getting four maximums. Dean Fullwood replied for Dog.

Landywood enjoyed a 4-1 win against Cottage Spring, as Neville Quinton, Mike Hampson, Alex Simmons and Keith Hollywood all won.

Gilberts B had Justin Evans, Josh Pickett and Nicky Devlin to thank for beating Gate Inn.

Dog & Partridge A won a tight 4-3 battle with Swan Compton in the Tettenhall Wednesday League. Dave Trainer, Garry Marshall, Liam Worsey and Nikki Dudley made up Dog’s victors.

Charlie’s Bar enjoyed a 6-1 away victory at Pilot, with wins from Jay Moon, Mark Mason, Dean Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Dan Harley and Wayne Jones.

Junction A had a 6-1 success over Firs Codsall courtesy of Dan Fellows, Paul Farley, Tom Slade, Jack Duck, Gav Whyman and Mikey Harris.

The Angel had a great 4-2 victory in the Wednesfield Sunday League, beating Gilberts B courtesy of Ade Worley, Pete Pearce, John Hennessy and Mike Matthews.

Gunmakers had Dan Bridgewood, Mark Baker, Liam Preece and Phil Tschubenko to thank in beating Ring Of Bells.

Three Crowns defeated Cleveland 4-2, as Kieran Baker, Stephen Hampson, Mark Fitzgerald and Chris County all won.

Wednesfield Cons claimed the Coseley Friday Consolation Cup after a 4-1 success over Lower Gornal BL. Chris Slater, Darren Williams, Karl Hughes and Wayne Jones did the damage.

Cons overcome Seven Stars 4-0 in the semi-final, while Gornal put Allens B out, 4-3.

Gilberts A’s Andy Jervis, Ben Johnson and Reece Cook-Lucas claimed the Wolverhampton Tuesday three-a-side title, winning a tight battle 3-2 against Junction’s Jack Aldridge, Dean Simmons and Luke Griffiths.

Losing in semi-finals were Steve Lynch, Kye Simmonds and Chris Hill, alongside Paul Bromley, Greg Parkes and Paul Simmons.
