The Baggies returned from the international break to succumb to stoppage-time defeat to Norwich, where the visitors passed up an opportunity to make hay in the top-six race.
Mowbray's men edged the Canaries in terms of shots and quality of chances created but left empty-handed and remain sixth in the Championship ahead of Saturday lunchtime's crunch clash against the head coach's former side Sunderland.
Albion have scored 15 goals in Mowbray's 12 games at the helm since the 61-year-old's return to the club in mid-January. His appointment was a bid to deliver a more attacking brand and improve on a goal record under former boss Carlos Corberan.
"Every game we play is an opportunity," Mowbray said as Albion could not take advantage of rivals dropping points. "We want to win every game. We felt disappointed at Elland Road and only taking a draw. Definitely at Burnley we felt we should've won.
