The 24-year-old rescued a vital point for Walsall with a stunning free-kick in the 87th-minute against promotion rivals AFC Wimbledon at Bescot on Saturday and added to his tally once again in the 2-2 draw at Doncaster on Tuesday.

Allen, who has scored the most goals from outside the box in England's top four divisions (six), extended his season tally to nine goals.

Only Lincoln City (25) have scored more goals from set pieces than the Saddlers (23) across the Premier League and EFL - according to WhoScored, with Allen playing an instrumental role in that impressive record.
