The clash appeared to be heading for yet another draw involving the Baggies before Canaries hitman Josh Sargent punished a Baggies side lacking in the final third.

We address some of the talking points in the debrief.

Armstrong conundrum

There was mass euphoria when Albion and Tony Mowbray pulled off the 11th-hour loan of Adam Armstrong on the day after transfer deadline day. It appeared a sure-fire ticket to the play-offs.

What has followed has, unfortunately, been underwhelming. The 28-year-old, the division's top scorer and Southampton promotion hero last season, has two goals in nine games - all starts - so far, including one penalty.

Armstrong was on the periphery, not for the first time, at Carrow Road. In other games he has been similarly uninvolved but a chance came his way. It was slim pickings in Norfolk. He touched the ball just three times in the Norwich box and failed to have a shot.

Armstrong, working with Mowbray at a third different club, is not shirking his duty. He is working as hard as any Baggies team-mate, but it is not happening for him - nor, in fact the side in the final third generally. There were not enough clear chances created on Saturday.

Most onlookers agree the striker is being starved of service and that has led to questions of the set-up. The calls for Armstrong to be joined by a striker colleague up front have grown louder.
