Walsall still sit atop of League Two despite seeing their seemingly unassailable 12-point lead reduced to just a single point following a dismal run of just two wins in 13 games.
Wimbledon are nestled in the final automatic promotion spot and trail the Saddlers by six points. Maximum points for Walsall would put clear daylight between themselves and another promotion rival whereas defeat would only deepen growing anxiety levels within the fan base.
The visit of Wimbledon is the first instalment in a trio of top end battles over the next seven days. They travel to fifth-place Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday night before welcoming local rivals Port Vale to Bescot in the lunch-time kick-off next week.
By then, the automatic promotion picture is likely to have taken another twist and Sadler has called on his players to seize the moment and embrace the big games.
