Norwich v West Brom preview: Tony Mowbray faces post-international head scratchers

Albion return to action following the international break with some weary bodies given a few players only returned to the country on Wednesday to train in full for the first time on Friday.

Northern Ireland's Isaac Price, Norway's Torbjorn Heggem and Grady Diangana, of DR Congo, all made late returns to their club and completed a recovery day on Thursday. The latter pair travelled back from Israel and Mauritania respectively, while the in-form Price played two lots of 90 minutes for his country.

The Baggies have been shorter on bodies in training during the break, with youngsters Harry Whitwell, Jamal Mohammed and Michael Parker drafted up from the under-21s.

They tackle the 13th-placed Canaries at Carrow Road with Johannes Hoff Thorup's hosts in the last-chance saloon to make up ground on the top six.

"A few didn’t train today (Thursday) because they got back last night (Wednesday) so it’s like second day of recovery," said Mowbray. "Heggem played Tuesday, Price played Tuesday, Grady played Tuesday so none of them trained. Grady did the warm up because he only played 15 or 20 minutes but the other two didn’t train.

"They are recovering really from their games and travelling. You have one day to prepare. On Friday we will have everybody available and fit, ready to go, just about. It’ll be the same for Norwich."
