That figure increases to six if you include Walsall academy graduate Ronan Maher who is currently on loan at Tamworth in the National League.

Maher will team up with fellow Walsall teammates David Okagbue and Darius Lipsiuc in Spain with the Republic of Ireland under-21s while Manchester United loanee Ethan Wheatley has been included in the England under-19 squad.

Elsewhere, Tommy Simkin has been named in Lee Carsley's 25-man squad for England under-21s and Liam Gordon will be jetting off to Barbados with Guyana.

Okagbue was handed his first under-21 cap during the previous international break alongside Stoke City loanee Lipsiuc, who subsequently joined Walsall on transfer deadline day.

Maher, who has scored three goals in 12 appearances on loan at Tamworth, received his maiden call-up for the under-21s last week.
