Championship table-toppers Leeds pose the sternest test of this season's division and Tony Mowbray's visitors would have to end a 16-match unbeaten league run for the hosts if they are to leave with all three points.

Head coach Tony Mowbray vowed in his press conference on Thursday that Albion would go to try to win the game at Elland Road and not be content with a point.

The Baggies have mixed availability news when it comes to the clash in West Yorkshire.

They are one body down in defensive given the injury blow to Semi Ajayi, confirmed this week, but Kyle Bartley returns from a ban.

Otherwise Mowbray gave an update on attacker Karlan Grant and striker Josh Maja, who have both been on the sidelines of late.

The Express & Star brings a run through of the latest availability news for the clash at Leeds.

Semi Ajayi - hamstring

The Nigerian central defender has been ruled out for several weeks after pulling up with a hamstring injury in last weekend's win over Oxford.

Mowbray confirmed to the Express & Star in this week's press conference that Ajayi will be back in contention to feature for the Baggies before the end of the season and play a part in the run-in to secure a play-off place.

Kyle Bartley - end of suspension

Former Leeds defender Bartley's return from a three-match suspension is timely given Ajayi's absence for the foreseeable future.

Bartley, 33, has been a key cog to Albion's backline for a couple of seasons now and Mowbray has pointed out the scale of his absence on several occasions. It's a huge test for the dominant defender at his old side.

Jed Wallace - calf

The club captain limped out of the draw at his former club Millwall and there was optimism he had not done too much damage with the muscle strain.

But the winger missed the clash against Oxford last time out and is forecast to be missing for at least another few weeks, likely to the other side of March’s international break.

Karlan Grant - illness

Albion have attacker Grant to call upon following his double hit of sickness. The wide forward missed the home defeat to Blackburn and victory over Oxford most recently. Though he did feature at Millwall briefly, albeit was not fully over the infection.

Daryl Dike - hamstring

The United States international finally made his return from the latest serious long-term injury with a cameo from the bench at Millwall two games ago. He is finally back in contention for a Baggies matchday squad.

Dike remained on the bench for the win over Oxford after more than a year out with his latest serious injury and it remains to be seen if he will be given any minutes at Elland Road.

Josh Maja - ankle

Top goalscorer Maja was spotted with his foot in a boot at Albion's training ground on Thursday as he continues his rehab from an injury which required surgery in January. Mowbray has yet to be able to call upon Maja for selection since the head coach returned to The Hawthorns.

Maja is not close to a return from the setback, which was stated to be up to a couple of months upon the striker's injury, which would take Albion up to around the middle of next month.
