Tammer Bany knew very little about West Brom back at the start of 2025.

But the attacking midfielder, who was attracting all sorts of attention from clubs in Europe, now knows all about the Baggies after coming off the bench and bagging an assist on his debut in the 2-0 win over Oxford last week.

Bany, who signed for Albion for £3.3m from Danish side Randers, has taken time to get up to speed since arriving at the club on the back of being in the off season in Denmark.

The Copenhagen born 21-year-old has already received praise from his manager Tony Mowbray - for seeking out daily advice from him despite only being at the club for a short length of time.

Bany has been discussing his move to Albion in an interview with Danish outlet Tipsbladet, and is excited to develop in a 'completely different' environment - but he knows how challenging the step up from the Danish Superliga will be.

However, he comes with a clear dream that lines up with Albion's ambitions.

He said: "I didn't have time to have a full pre-season in Randers, and they knew that well at West Bromwich.

"That's also why they've been a bit cautious about just throwing me into the game right away. They've told me that they want me to have trained fully for a week or two before I get into the game. That's also how I want it.

"It's something completely different here in England. I've also seen a few matches now, and I can sense that the atmosphere is completely different. From what I've seen from the matches, they might be a little tougher this time.

"In the short term, I want to adapt as quickly as possible and become part of the team and show my worth. And in the longer term, I hope that I can help as much as possible to help the team get promoted to the Premier League. That is the dream. And the goal too, of course."

Bany's deal went through on transfer deadline day - and was the second fee Albion paid for a player in the transfer window, after Isaac Price arrived from Standard Liege.

The attacking midfielder had been linked with switches to other clubs in Europe, with Celtic one club reportedly interest.

But after consideration Bany and his advisors agreed making the move to Albion was the one he wanted to make.

He added: "There will always be interest, but I heard about the things that were concrete and that I might have to take care of.

"But these things of interest, that was more something I read about in the media, to be completely honest. Of course, I also heard something from the background about the interest, but it is not something you relate to because you cannot relate to it.

"I found out very late. I didn't know much about West Bromwich, but I knew there was some interest from the Championship.

"But it wasn't concrete until the last day when Søren (Pedersen, Randers Sporting Director) reached out to me and told me that there was something concrete that he had been working on, says Tammer Bany and continues:

"Søren must have known about it, I don't know 100 percent, but I know that they knew that there was some interest that I didn't know about. On the last day I was told that there was something I had to take care of and find out if I wanted to, because there was something concrete.

"So the process ended with Søren telling me that there was West Bromwich, which was concrete, and that he had negotiated his part, and now it was up to me whether I wanted to go there or not. So we talked to my backers and my family, and we agreed that it would be a good step to take. At least we hope so."
