The silky Scottish midfielder, who cost Albion just £200,000 when they snapped him up from Livingston, went on to become a fans favourite at The Hawthorns after a sparkling 2009/10 campaign.

Dorrans netted 18 times for Albion in all competitions, and helped Robert Di Matteo's side win promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

His memorable goals and match winning performances saw him scoop PFA fans' player of the year, as well as being named in the PFA team of the season.

The 12 cap Scottish international went on to make an impact for Albion during their eight year stay in the Premier League, before departing for Norwich City in 2015.

Spells with Rangers, Dundee and Western Sydney Wanderers in Australia's A League followed, before he signed for Dunfermline Athletic in the Scottish Championship.

He departed the club in 2022 - and rocked up at West of Scotland First Division side Johnstone Burgh back in 2023.

The midfielder, who once lit up The Hawthorns played a number of games for the side, before recently departing.

However, at the age of 37, Dorrans has insisted that after previously considering stepping away from the game, he now has a desire and offers to remain playing.

He said: "It’s been really good. It’s been an eye-opener, I had never been at this level before. That is what interested me at the beginning. The boys are a great bunch. I really enjoyed my time here. It’s different from the levels I have played at before but in terms of the enjoyment, it kept me busy, it’s served it’s purpose for me.

“I have really enjoyed being part of the club the last 18 months. The facilities and the infrastructure of the clubs I have played at especially in England are big clubs. That is why coming here intrigued me, I’d never played at this level. I liked the vision and where the club wanted to go.

“Before I signed here I was probably going down the route of stepping away from the playing side. I took a bit of time off after leaving Dunfermline and got chatting here. Now it’s family reasons why I am moving on. In terms of keeping play, I won’t close the door on that, I have a couple of options and I will speak to people. Time will tell what I do after that.”
