Kidderminster pick up crucial win as Rushall Olympic suffer heavy defeat
Kyle Morrison netted on his second debut for Kidderminster Harriers as they beat National League North play-off rivals Kings Lynn Town 2-0 on Tuesday - writes Dan Hickey.
The defender’s first-half headed goal was added to in the second period by Reece Devine, leaving the side nine points from the top in sixth place.
Manager Phil Brown dedicated the win to Steve Miller, the long-serving BBC Radio Hereford & Worcester commentator whose voice was synonymous
with Kidderminster, after he passed away earlier this week.
Speaking to Harriers, Brown said: “I’d like to dedicate the win to Steve and his family.
“The performance was worthy of Steve’s kind of commentary, you know, he was a very upbeat kind of guy, and he said the right things at the right time.
On the performance, he added: “From Saturday to Tuesday it was chalk and cheese.
“There were two simple reasons why the performance was of the ilk it was tonight. It was the signing of Kyle Morrison and Dave Worrall.
“They’re proper players. I’m not disrespecting anyone who’s already been in the team and played for us this season or represented Kidderminster Harriers, but they’re proper players and they know what it takes to win a game of football at this level.
“They’ve set a standard, so they can’t step away from that, and that’s the standard I’ll be pushing on them, and putting on them.
Morrison returns to the club for the first time since his loan spell at the end of the 2022/23 season, while experienced winger and midfielder Worrall joined the club on a month-long loan from League Two Barrow.
Elsewhere in the division, Rushall Olympic are bottom after a bad loss away at third-placed Brackley Town.
