Jellis missed the 3-0 defeat at Bradford City in January due to illness and was still feeling the effects on his return.

The 24-year-old has rediscovered his form of late and scored his seventh goal of the season in all competitions during Walsall's 2-0 success at Morecambe on Saturday.

He said: "I am my own biggest critic. When I was wiped out with illness a few weeks back, to try and get myself back up to 100 per cent was a hard period for me because I know what I can do.

"And to not be able to perform to those levels was hard. But I need to learn not to be too hard on myself and know that the energy and that explosiveness is going to come back.
