Morecambe have collected two wins from their last three home games to propel themselves to within two points of safety.
The Shrimps, who sit 23rd in the table, are still yet to win back-to-back games in League Two this term.
They beat Accrington Stanley 2-0 last Saturday before falling to a narrow 1-0 defeat against promotion contenders Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday night.
Adams admitted that putting together a run of wins has proven difficult, but he is hoping to stage a shock on the weekend.
He said: "It's proving very difficult and it's something we have to try and do (put together wins).
"We know how difficult a league we are in and we are in a three-team league at this moment in time - and we have to finish top of it.
"It's something we're trying to do but we understand the task we have against a Walsall team, who are at the top of the league and have been there for a number of weeks.
“They might have had that five-game run but, before that, they had put together a number of victories.
“They are a good side who have performed really well this season and have plenty of threats.
“However, there are shocks all the time in this division and we have to try and cause another one on Saturday.”
Morecambe are likely to be without Ryan Schofield after the goalkeeper injured his groin against Doncaster.
Schofield, who only joined the Shrimps in January, was forced off during the first half and was replaced by Harry Burgoyne.
Former Wolves and Shrewsbury goalkeeper Burgoyne had started the previous 15 leagie games prior to Schofield's arrival.
