Wolves forward Matheus Cunha on 'crazy month' and avoiding 'star man' tag

A hectic January saw the forward linked with a move away from the club - before he put question marks around his future to bed by signing a new contract.

The forward's new deal came after he was suspended back in December, following an incident after a defeat to Ipswich Town that saw him grab the glasses of a member of the visiting staff.

The incident led to Cunha being banned for two matches.

The Brazilian has been the main man in a difficult season for Wolves, netting 13 times in all competitions and scoring in his last three matches.

Cunha opened up about the incident in an interview with BBC Sport - and also discussed how he doesn't want to be front and centre, and see himself as the club's star man.

He said: "It was a little bit of a crazy month for me.

"I did something wrong in the pitch and I felt so sad.

"I apologised again to the security from Ipswich, and these kind of things give you a chance to learn and improve.

"I don't want to be the star man. 

"I want to be someone important for the people to remember something good I do for them

"I want to do everything to show I am fighting for you inside of the pitch and some magic moments for them."
