First-choice goalkeeper Palmer ended his 14 years at Albion when he joined Premier League side Ipswich Town in a move worth up to £5million earlier this month.

Former Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County goalkeeper Wildsmith, who arrived last summer, has started the past three games since Palmer's exit.

The 29-year-old was questioned for his performance in the 2-0 home defeat against Blackburn Rovers last Wednesday but responded with a standout display at Millwall three days later.

Wildsmith made a string of important saves to help Albion preserve a point in their 1-1 draw at the Den and Mowbray has been pleased with his goalkeeper's performances.
