Ex-West Brom youngster's European title fight given the green light
Ex-West Brom youngster Shakan Pitters will have another shot at winning a European belt after his EBU light-heavyweight bout against defending champion Daniel Dos Santos has been given the greenlight.
The pair were originally scheduled to do battle on February 7, but it was cancelled less than 24 hours before, after Frenchman Dos Santos failed a brain scan. Pitters stayed fresh to conquer Iranian Bahadur Karami with a second round stoppage.
In a remarkable turn of events, Dos Santos has challenged the decision and the fight is finally set to go ahead as the main event on GBM's 'Once Upon A Time In London' card at York Hall on April 4.
