The hosts dominated the opening stages before Wolves took control of the second half.

They pushed the league leaders close but were unable to grab a comeback point as they fell to defeat.

Substitution impact

It is amazing what confidence can do for a footballer and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde seems to be full of it.

The Frenchman was introduced at half-time and continued his impressive form with a impactful display in the front three.

He was aggressive in possession, created chances and helped Wolves keep the pressure on Liverpool.

Bellegarde has now had three strong performances, in central midfield and out wide, and is quickly becoming a key player under Vitor Pereira.

New signing Marshall Munetsi also came on at half-time and, as a makeshift number nine, offered a presence up front that gave Liverpool's defence a hard time.
