Gordon was forced off in the second half during Walsall's 1-1 draw against Gillingham at Bescot on Tuesday night and was ruled out of their 3-1 home win over Chesterfield on Saturday.

The 30-year-old, who has only recently returned from a four-month absence, went for a scan earlier this week, and Sadler has admitted that the injury "doesn't look great".

Boss Sadler said: "Josh, not so good news, he is going to see a consultant on Monday to really assess the severity of the injury.

"I'll tell you on Thursday in terms of how that looks. Not 100 per cent on that but it doesn't look great.

"It is on a different part of his hamstring (from his previous injury). We'll have to see exactly what that looks like off the back of Monday's meeting."

Defender Harry Williams was also taken off at the start of the second half against Chesterfield, with Walsall trailing 1-0 at the time.

Second half goals from Jamille Matt, Ellis Harrison and Levi Amantchi completed a superb second half fightback and ended their five-match winless run in League Two.

Sadler confirmed that Williams jarred his knee when blocking Dylan Duffy's effort in the first half but was unable to provide much more clarity on his injury at full-time.

"I don't know. That incredible bit of defending he did towards the end of the first half, he made a couple of those today," Sadler added.

"He has just jarred his knee a little bit. I don't know any more than that so we'll have to see."
