Bradmore keep Belgrade at bay in Wolverhampton Sunday League

AFC Bradmore solidified second place in their Wolverhampton & District Sunday League Division One clash with third-placed Belgrade, writes Dan Hickey.

The two sides trail behind league-leaders Victoria who, despite only being a point ahead of Bradmore, have four games in hand.

Alex Trout netted either side of half-time for the hosts as they became the division’s second highest scorers.

Connaught United climbed to sixth after a 5-1 triumph at home to Vybez Warstones Wanderers, who are bottom of the division.

Jimmy Hague opened the scoring the hosts, before Shaun Campbell and substitute Kian Boden added braces. Vybez earned a solitary consolation goal at the death.

In the TB Williamson Cup semi-final, Warstones Wanderers AFC won away at Ye Olde Crown.

The 1-0 win came courtesy of Luqman Wirba as Division One’s second-bottom side progress to the final, where they will face Abbey Hulton United.

Shane Farrington netted a hat-trick as Lee Turner, Sean Emery and Curtis Newbould-Smith added to the remarkable tally. Royal Oak are now last in the division.

Ashmore continue to climb the table after their 4-0 win away to Dynamo 50 Stile. Abdul Mikidam (two), Connor Potts and Reece Potts scored for visitors as they went five points off the top with three games in hand.

Black Country Blades were successful in the Charity Cup third round, defeating struggling Division Four side Mental Health Sports 1-0.

Division Three’s third-placed Bradmore Social beat second-placed Portobello Rangers in the Charity Cup. The 6-0 win came courtesy of Daniel Munday (four), Mark Morgan and Bradley Lawley.

In the league, leaders Pelsall Social & Cricket Club suffered a shock 3-1 loss to HTFC, as Craig Ruston netted a hat-trick for the home side.

AFC Perton bested Ashmore Park Rangers RBL 5-2, while Mental Health beat AFC White Horse 2-1.

DY United remain top of Division Four after beating Bushbury Hill 4-1, however Dudley Rangers United and Codsall Wanderers are only five points behind .

DY won 2-1 at Mental Health Lions while Codsall dominated Pattingham Panthers 6-0.

AFC Huntsmen won their mid-table clash 4-2 at home to Gunmakers, while LoneStar Hydrobolt Rangers drew 0-0 at home to Sporting Codsall.

In the Beacon League Over-30s Division, HC Rangers Vets suffered their first loss of the season to Tipton Town Vets, losing 4-0 at home as AFC Goldthorne eased to a 5-0 victory over Aquasoft Systems Vets in the Lester Charity Cup
