Molumby's 96th-minute winner for a 2-1 victory sparked chaotic scenes inside The Hawthorns and further full-time celebrates led to vice-captain Kyle Bartley's red card after the final whistle.

Wednesday's Callum Paterson had moments earlier converted for what looked like grabbing the visitors a stoppage time point to cancel out debutant Adam Armstrong's effort.

Armstrong struck on 74 minutes to break the deadlock for Mowbray's men, but the sensational plot twists arrived in seven minutes of stoppage time as a rollercoaster set in.

"He's quite an emotional lad, isn't he? I've only been here for three weeks, I'm still learning about their personalities," said Mowbray, who made it two home wins from two since his return.

"I don't know, would you call him 'quirky'? I'm not sure. He's emotional. He wants to win. I can feel that even when we're doing game prep, he'll ask questions - 'why is this?' 'Can you explain this press to me?' 'Why have I got to go in there?'
