Mat Sadler tasks Walsall to "rise" to the challenge after Colchester defeat

Mat Sadler says Walsall must "rise" to the challenge of being League Two leaders after they were beaten 2-1 by Colchester United at the JobServe Stadium.

Walsall's lead has been cut from 12-points to six following a four-match winless run which has included three successive away defeats over the past fortnight. 

Charlie Lakin opened the scoring midway into the second half with a thumping low drive into the bottom corner, only for Teddy Bishop to level the contest four minutes later.

Owuru Edwards scored a sensational 75th-minute winner before Taylor Allen was shown a second yellow card after tensions boiled over late on.

But Sadler insists he is keeping calm amid the recent drop off in form and wants his Walsall team to just be themselves.

"That is my job and that's what I'll do," he said when asked how he will make sure Walsall keep their heads. "Because of us being us, we're maybe viewed differently in this division now.
