Albion followed up a big home win against Portsmouth in the Black Country last time out with a disappointing defeat at Championship basement boys in Devon last weekend.
With the race for a play-off place as tight as ever, the Baggies can ill-afford many more slip-ups in the final 16 games of the regular campaign with one rival, Sheffield Wednesday, Saturday lunchtime's visitors.
Head coach Mowbray is likely to tweak the side the started the last two games as he seeks a response - among his biggest calls is whether Josh Griffiths, recalled this week, or Joe Wildsmith starts in goal after Alex Palmer's sale. Mowbray spoke about the duo's fight the position on Friday morning.
The boss's other teasers come as a result of being boosted by the arrival of three new attacking faces.
One of them, Danish schemer Tammer Bany, will not feature against the Owls or Wednesday's clash against Blackburn as he adjusts having arrived in the country on Thursday. Bany was in his post-season break after the Danish season concluded at the beginning of December.

Mowbray's other two additions, loan striker duo Adam Armstrong and Will Lankshear, are both pushing for immediate involvement. Tottenham youngster Lankshear has trained all week, more so than Armstrong, but the latter has been a regular for Southampton in the Premier League and is an experienced campaigner when it comes to the Championship's tests.
