Matt's absence has been heavily felt since he hobbled off in the 3-0 defeat at Bradford City just over a fortnight ago. Walsall trailed by just the single goal at that stage but went on to relinquish their club record nine-match winning streak with a sorry display at Valley Parade.
He was then forced to sit out the 2-0 defeat at Fleetwood Town and just failed to make the cut for the 2-2 draw against Salford City at Bescot last week. Matt has had a full week to prepare but Mat Sadler will understandably be mindful of not throwing him in too quickly.
If Sadler is comfortable that Matt can feature from the start then it will be interesting to see who will partner him in attack. Levi Amantchi impressed from the bench against Salford while Josh Gordon got 65 minutes under his belt on his first start in over five months.
