The 19-year-old England youth international striker has penned a loan deal until the end of the season from Tottenham, where he has made an impression on the first team.
Lankshear's move to The Hawthorns was confirmed last Friday night, but not in time for a debut in the defeat at Plymouth. The teen is vying for a bow at home to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday between two play-off chasing rivals.
Lankshear has scored once in six outings for Spurs' senior side and hopes to show his clinical touch in the opposition penalty box - an area the Baggies have lacked this season.
“I’d say my best attributes are scoring goals and linking up the play, trying to get other players involved in attacks," Lankshear said.
“I’d say most of the goals I score are in the penalty area, within the frame of the goal.
“I wouldn’t call them tap-ins because they are harder finishes than you’d think they are, but I like being in and around the goal looking for those opportunities from close range.
“I’m confident that I’m capable of getting into the right areas and scoring goals and I hope I can show that to the fans as soon as possible.”
Striker Lankshear made his Spurs debut in October in the Europa League. He netted early on in his second appearance, away to Turkish giants Galatasaray, before a late red card courtesy of two bookings.
He has also had three Premier League cameos for Ange Postecoglou's side since December. Lankshear last season bagged 23 goals for Spurs' under-21s and was named player of the season across the Premier League 2, the top division for youth sides.
The frontman has been joined in Tony Mowbray's ranks by fellow loanee Adam Armstrong, who dramatically penned a late loan deal from Southampton.
The north London prospect added: "West Bromwich Albion is a really big club and I’m really grateful to be here. I can’t wait to get going and hopefully score lots of goals.
“I’ve really enjoyed my first few days here. Training has been really good and all the staff have been incredibly welcoming. The players have been really welcoming too and that’s really helped me settle in.
“Playing games for Spurs has certainly given me extra motivation to stay around a senior side and I’m determined to grasp this opportunity."
Spurs spent in the region of £2million to bring Hertfordshire-born Lankshear, then 17, to their academy in 2022.
