Matty Lovatt's hosts did most of their work in the first half having raced into a 4-1 lead which was seen out relatively comfortably as ninth-placed Dudley climbed within two points of sixth in Midland Premier.

Matt Funge netted the first of his double to open the scoring early but Nathan Walker struck an equaliser on 25 minutes.

Dudley thrashed in three goals in seven minutes to finish the first period with Joe Colley, Funge and Ethan Muckley all on target in a devastating few moments.

Jordan Davies made it five with the pick of the bunch as he curled into the top corner 20 minutes from time. Twelfth-placed OJM grabbed two late goals but not enough to place any serious pressure on the hosts.

Boss Lovatt said: "It could and should've been a lot more and we're disappointed to concede three because they were mistakes on our part.

"We'll take the positives, despite some absentees to put in the performance we have I'm delighted, I thought we were superb from back to front.

Elsewhere, Lichfield City bagged a dramatic stoppage-time winner away to Uttoxeter Town to maintain their 10 points lead at the summit.

Substitute Sonny Sheasby rose superbly in the dying moments to plant a bullet header into the Uttoxeter net from a Callum Rudd long throw-in to seal a crucial victory.

Uttoxeter had kept Lichfield at bay and looked like claiming a point with a 1-1 draw after the hosts' Mo Sidu opened the scoring with a  fine strike on half hour. Callum Griffin immediately cancelled it out as he converted Jack Edwards' pull back.

Two goals each from Reg Smith and Christian Blanchette continued chief chasers Brocton's flying campaign with a statement 4-0 victory away at fellow promotion contenders 1874 Northwich.

Chuffed boss Alex Curtis said: “What a difference a week makes after the loss last week. We were superb, took our chance, and if I’m honest, we could have had more. Our defence was superb, our midfield over ran theirs, and the lads up front were in fine form."

Smith hammered into the bottom corner for a 13th-minute lead which Blanchette doubled on 26 minutes as he headed in Connor Haddaway's corner.

The division's top scorer Smith had the points all-but wrapped up just after half hour as he converted Morgan Payne's delivery.

Blanchette reacted quickest to make it four just a few minutes after the interval as fourth-placed Northwich were blown away.

Jay Holdcroft struck 15 minutes from time to earn AFC Wulfrunians a 1-0 win at lowly Highgate United. Craig Tuckley's late penalty miss did not cost the visitors.

Stourport Swifts are eighth after a 2-0 late-show at Tividale, who are one spot above the drop zone.

The visitors used their bench expertly to break Tivi hearts as substitutes Dale Edwards and Kai Adams struck in minutes 89 and 90 respectively.

Basement boys Wolverhampton Casuals were hammered 5-0 at mid-table outfit Whitchurch Alport. Luke Askey, Matt Thomas and Jack Tomlinson earned Stone Old Alleynians a 3-1 win over Northwich Victoria.

In Division One Jordan Crump netted twice as Cradley Town, in fifth, thumped Allexton & New Parks 6-1 on the road. Bilston Town are sixth after beating Stapenhill 2-1.

Smethwick Rangers lost 2-1 at AFC Bridgnorth, Wednesfield were beaten 3-2 at Nuneaton Griff and Gornal claimed a point in an entertaining 3-3 home draw with Lutterworth as substitute Mark Gore remarkably marked his debut with a hat-trick, including a last-gasp equaliser.

Stafford Town and Winsford United, the top two in North West Counties Division One South, shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw after Patryk Mazurkiewicz twice equalised for visitors and leaders Stafford.
