37-year-old Albert Adomah was given the nod in attack in the 4-2 win over MK Dons, scoring Walsall's fourth goal in their club record ninth successive league win.
Leading scorer Nathan Lowe, who scored 18 goals including 15 in the league during his loan, was recalled by Championship side Stoke City just under a fortnight ago.
The teenager has left a huge void for Walsall to fill but Sadler reiterated that the club are remaining patient in their search for a replacement.
"Who knows, possibly," he said when asked if a new striker would be signed before the weekend.
"We're working, we're trying to make a few bits and pieces happen. Sometimes you're at the mercy of things dropping to allow things to drop for us."
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Walsall had a £230,000 bid turned down by Lincoln City for former loanee Freddie Draper last week.
Nottingham Forest striker Joe Gardner has become the latest name to be linked with a loan switch to Bescot, as per Peter O'Rourke, but Sadler was unwilling to discuss any names.
"I'm sure there is loads. Freddie was the name last week, Joe (Gardner) is this week. Who knows who will be the week after that," he continued.
"I'm not going to talk about names because they're other people's players. We are working as hard as we can with everything in all positions.
"But we come into that from a positive position so obviously anything we do will have to be the right fit."
