The Yeltz leapfrogged Kettering Town and AFC Telford United after they overcame Royston 2-1 at The Grove on Tuesday night thanks to a first-half brace from Conor Tee.

Halesowen now sit ahead of Bedford Town on goal difference having played the same number of games, with Telford in third also on 46 points but holding a game in hand.

Long-time leaders Kettering still hold the greatest claim to top spot, despite now being fourth -  they are two points behind the top three, but with three games in hand. Three other sides are within two wins of the summit at a congested top end of the table.

Bedford moved up to second with a 1-0 victory over Stourbridge, who are now seven points adrift of the play-off sports in 10th.

Despite losing 1-0 at home to Darlington, Kidderminster Harriers still sit atop of National League North - with a game in hand over the three sides directly below them - but they were joined on 49 points by second-placed Chester, who beat Spennymoor Town.

The top six are separated by four points, with sixth-placed Curzon Ashton holding two games in hand over Harriers.

Meanwhile, Sporting Khalsa were 4-2 winners at Stafford Rangers in the second round of the Staffordshire Senior Cup.

James McGrady and Kieron Whittaker fired Khalsa into a 2-0 lead at half-time, but John Atherton got Boro back into the match.

Isai Marselia restored Khalsa's two-goal lead, but Atherton's second kept Stafford in it until Chay Tilt made it 4-2 to the visitors five minutes from the end.

And Aston Villa advanced in the Birmingham Senior Cup, winning their third-round tie 5-0 at Sutton Coldfield Town thanks to goals from Charlie Pavey, Todd Alcock, Jamal Aloba, a Pedro Lima own-goal and Ilani Edwards.
