Hotshots boast five-point cushion at Division One summit with another victory

Hotshots boast a five-point lead at the top of Division One after a 4-1 victory at Charlemont Bowling Club in the Staffordshire & West Midlands Snooker League.

Milan Krstanovic hit a stunning break of 96 for Charlemont but was unable to prevent his side from falling defeats as Karl Ashmore, Callum Downing, Faizan Mohammed and Paul Deaville racked up wins for Hotshots.

Poets Corner kept their title challenge well and truly alive with a 5-0 demolition of Townsend Social thanks to winning frames from Riley Parsons, Andy Tapper, Chris Jones, Bal Sembi and Adrian Rosa. 

Stafford Institute slipped to third after twice blowing the lead in a 3-2 defeat at Shifnal WM. Daniel Eaton-Lees and Chris Ward saw winning frames cancelled out by Matthew Davies and Keith Price before John Fallows sealed the contest in the decisive frame. 

Landywood SC remain fourth after condemning Wednesfield Cons to a 4-1 defeat courtesy of wins from Alan Hathaway, Kane Grigg, Dave Turner and Robbie James.

At the other end of the table, Landywood B climbed out of the bottom two after coming from two frames down to win 3-2, with Michael Beardmore taking the decisive frame. 

Elsewhere, Sedgley Ex Service romped to a 4-1 victory over Sedgley WMC while Baggeridge Social Club won by the same score line at home to Bilston Bowling Club. 

Bilston Sports remain rooted to the foot of the Division One table after being handed a 4-1 drubbing at the hands of Hotshots B. 

In Division Two, second-place Stafford Institute B kept their faint title hopes alive after beating Woodfield 3-2, with Steve Smart taking the deciding frame. 

Pennfields B saw their promotion push hit a bump as Landywood C eased to a comprehensive 5-0 victory. Landywood D dropped into the relegation zone after falling to a 4-1 defeat at Poets D and Willenhall Liberals narrowly beat Electric 3-2. 

Poets E stay seven points adrift of top spot in Division Three after beating Electric B 3-2 who also went onto lose by the same score line against Dartmouth later in the week. 

Elsewhere, Dwyer Evans sealed victory for Codsall Firs when they hosted Wednesfield RBL. 

In Division Four, Wednesfield RBL B slipped off top spot after suffering a 3-2 defeat at home to Aldridge Cons who moved a point ahead of them into second. 

Bilston Bowling Club B took full advantage by climbing to the summit with a game in hand after defeating Q Bar Junioers 3-2. 

Bentley Moor continued their promotion push in Division Five after beating rock bottom Pelsall Social 4-1.
