The 26-year-old forward bagged 21 goals in 78 appearances for Albion during his two seasons at the club, before being sold to Coventry City in August for a fee in the region of £2.25m.
However, the Ghana international has had a testing time at the Sky Blues.
So far this season has has played 25 times but only eight have them have been starts, with the last one coming in November.
He has netted twice in the League Cup and just once in the league, and he could now be set for a move away from the Coventry Building Society Arena.
According to Sky Sports, Thomas-Asante is the subject of a bid from Championship rivals Blackburn Rovers.
The Ewood Park club were keen to bring Ben Brereton Diaz back to the club - but it has been reported that the Chile international is set to sign for Sheffield United.
And now Thomas-Asante has become a target for John Eustace's side, with the club reportedly a £1.75m bid for the striker.
If the bid were to be accepted, it would see the Sky Blues make around a £500,000 loss on the forward following just six months at the club.
